B always loved the ability of hip hop to examine and explore our lives, our values and our place in the world. B has a PhD in philosophy, and she's harnessing her philosophical training to trying to make sense of life in a lyrical and musical context.
Showcasing an ambitious array of mixed genre influences and personal expression, one of B’s most recognisable traits is her distinct tone, effortlessly hopping over the beat without force, her voice irresistibly soothing, drawing the listener into her world as she mesmerises with words of compelling imagery and lyricism.
She makes work inspired by artists like Akala, Kae Tempest, Ren, The Fugees, The Streets, Little Simz, and more.
B is a masked rapper. She makes sometimes confrontational, and always honest, content, and as a woman on the internet, feels the need for some of that sweet, sweet pseudonymity. She’s not hiding. She’s allowing herself full earnestness.
